You’ve wanted to eat keto, but you’re a little lost as to where to begin. You’re staring at long lists of food, what’s allowed and what isn’t and are unsure how to put things together to create meals. It’s all overwhelming, and you have no idea what to buy at the grocery store. Or how you’re going to manage if you have to eat like this from now on.
The good news is, there’s help for that.
Thankfully other people have walked this same path before, and they’re not only willing to share in their experience. They’ve crafted beautiful guides to show you the way – and that includes some really fabulous cookbooks, so you’re still able to eat all your favorite dishes – only in ways that are healthier. And will also introduce you to things you never knew before that will fast become your new favorites.
Where to begin?
1. The Keto Diet: The Complete Guide to a High-Fat Diet by Leanne Vogel
For the beginner starting out, this is the perfect book to get you in motion. With substitution charts, grocery lists, and other extras there’s no excuse to fail with this book in your arsenal.
2. Ketogenic Diet: The Step by Step Guide For Beginners by Jamie Ken Moore

information here that explains basic concepts, and takes you through meal planning and getting yourself on track. The recipes are given as easy, which is a bonus, though you’ll probably want to supplement with another cookbook before too long.
3. & 4. The Keto Crock Pot Cookbook by Diana Barrera Ketogenic Instant Pot Cookbook by Darlene Vanhoose
You’re getting two recommendations instead of one here because both of these are aimed at using your kitchen tools at making meals. Anything that makes cooking easier is a bonus. What’s nice is the variety of recipes in both these books.
5. Keto Comfort Foods by Maria Emmerich
With 170 recipes you get to return to all your favorite dishes here but changed up to match the keto plan. Who knew you could still enjoy things like chicken cordon bleu, cinnamon rolls, and more?
A good cookbook should inspire confidence, especially when you’re trying to change your life in such a significant way. With this list, you have everything you need to get started and stay motivated in the weeks to come. Bon Appétit!
